The LINX Companies announces a new strategic vision, based on its flagship summer day camp, called LINX Camps. Starting on the date camp opens (June 21, 2021), operations will focus solely on day camps, which will include bringing new concepts to the greater Boston area.
"LINX Camps embodies all of the attributes and hallmarks of the LINX Companies experience. Even in a summer of unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our phenomenal staff delivered programming that few other businesses could accomplish. Our 12 year track record of offering premier, innovative day camps will now set the focus for our future. Summer camp is more important than ever and we want to continue creating amazing experiences for each member of every family," said Joe Kahn, owner and founder.
With camp opening in just seven weeks, the team is incredibly excited for the summer ahead and brimming with new ideas for the future! The LINX Companies will continue to be headquartered at its offices in Wellesley where the year-round team will work on preparation for camp every summer. As a longstanding member of the broader enrichment community, the company will continue its traditional engagement with PTOs and education-based charitable organizations. To enable LINX Companies' new direction, the company is proud to announce that, at the conclusion of the current program year, it is spinning off its dance and theater divisions into two independent companies, each of which will be run by veterans of LINX Dance Studio and LINX Theater.
"We are so happy that our families will get to enjoy the camp, dance, and theater programs that they have grown to love, with the same amazing leaders they know and trust. With three separate companies, the opportunity for growth and specialization, to the benefit of students preschool through 12th grade, is greater than ever," said Kahn.
Heather Emley, the dance director who created LINX Dance Studio along with Kahn, is launching Momentum Dance. Dannea Reali, an Assistant Dance Director at LINX Dance Studio and a former Boston Celtics Dancer, will be co-owner. A majority of the former LINX Dance Studio instructors have joined the Momentum Dance staff. The new studio will be located in Linden Square in Wellesley, on the side with CPK, and will offer both recreational and competitive classes beginning in fall 2021. "I am incredibly grateful for the trust and support I had to grow LINX Dance Studio into an award-winning dance program. Many of our first dancers are now in college and pursuing careers from passions they developed and deepened with us. I can't wait for Momentum Dance to influence a new generation of dancers," said Emley.
Leadership from LINX Theater will team with Walnut Hill School for the Arts, an arts high school in Natick MA with enrolled students from all over the world, to open the Community Theater Academy (CTA) in fall 2021. CTA will bring students of all ages together to create and explore theater in an inclusive, diverse, and nurturing environment to perform small cast productions. Registration is now open for Momentum and CTA. Both spin-offs are offering priority placement to current LINX Companies families who register by May 18th.
