Mini LINXAt the LINX early education center, we believe in providing a supportive atmosphere where lifelong learners have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. We provide a creative environment that enables our team to engage the children in hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that appeal to a variety of interests and learning styles. We want to encourage each child to develop the social, emotional and self-help skills necessary for successful transition into Kindergarten and beyond. Children will have an opportunity to be exposed to the Massachusetts English Language Arts Curriculum Framework. Students will gain experience with language (for example, students explain to the group why an object they bring from home is important to them), reading and literature (students listen to the book Time to Sleep by Denise Fleming and every time the group finds a (B) they stand up and say the sound of the letter (/b/) and say a word that starts with that sound (bear, bug, bell) and composition (children draw pictures of how they planted tulip bulbs in pots as a group, and then put them in chronological order). Children will also be engaged a variety of hands-on experiences to introduce and reinforce the Massachusetts Mathematics Curriculum Framework. Students will engage in problem solving, communicating, reasoning, connecting, and representing as they explore the properties of shapes, build patterns, practice and recognize attributes of measurement, use drawings and objects to model number sense and operations, and practice collecting, sorting, and organizing data using concrete objects to encourage data analysis. Your child’s LINX early education experience will be a bold adventure in learning exploration, social encouragement, support, caring and friendship!
