Summer '09 All Star Sports Camp

An intense sport training experience! All Star Sports Campers receive the physical conditioning and training they need to succeed in sports (Lacrosse, Soccer, Baseball, Flag Football and Street Hockey). Campers enjoy all the programs of our general camp (canoeing, crafts, science and nature) with the scheduled addition of sports training activities.

WEEK 1: Campers participate in a series of evaluations and skill development drills and games. Each camper has fun while enhancing and developing the fundamental skills needed to succeed within each sport.

WEEK 2: Tournaments and LINX Olympics: Campers are divided into teams while they enter into LINX Olympic competition mode. Team challenges, record breaking games and Beat the Leader activities are all part of the game during week 2. An emphasis is placed on continuing to develop the skills each sport requires, along with good sportsmanship, dedication and perseverance.

Each session ends with an award ceremony that acknowledges each camper’s improvements and overall skill, as well as sportsmanship and spirit. Campers go home with a Skills Assessment Chart that identifies their strengths and areas that need further conditioning. Each skills assessment is designed to help campers develop their confidence and awareness that will improve their comfort and performance during the year. Campers are encouraged to participate in multiple sessions to further develop their skills.
